What to believe? Watch this video (make sure you have 2 hours spare time)… then read this counter breakdown: http://www.robertphoenix.com/content/?p=4265&cpage=1#comment-22228 , and come to your own conclusion…. One thing that caught my attention was the whole topic on ‘Free Energy’.
ORGANIC FAIR TRADE COLD PRESSED EXTRA VIRGIN COCONUT OIL

My favourite new item in the kitchen (and beyond) is coconut oil. Not only does it smell amazing when you open up the container, also makes foods super tasty and it is known as a superfood with many benefits in addition to just using it for healthier cooking. Read my friend, Tim Rustow’s post on Coconut Oil.
Make sure when choosing your coconut oil, that its extra-virgin, organic and raw (or cold pressed). Some argue that all coconut oil’s are heated at some point, so buying raw/cold pressed is unnecessary, but do some more reading to make your own judgement. I recommend trying Tiana and Nutiva.
THE BOOK

Post Burning Man, we were in Vancouver (where Anstascia is from) and her mom gave me a book to read on digestion. She has been a Naturopath for over 25 years, so ‘naturally’ I took the time to read it…! I can safely say it was the easiest read and I finished it in a few days. There are many books on digestion, yet this one comes complete with funny cartoons as well, and I have a complete visual in my head now on how my whole organ system works without much thought thanks to the cartoons lol.
So before any sort of cleanse/detox/change of diet, I recommend reading a book on digestion, where your food goes, type of thing, as its essential to know HOW it all works in the background and WHY exactly you’re ‘getting involved’ as the Brits like to say. -viv
I can safely say that since our trip to Burning Man this past year alot has just come together in my world. I’ve had countless epiphanies. One of them being a closer look into what I’m eating and how to do it healthier and smarter. I’m going to use Tumblr very temporarily to share everything I’ve learned along the way till our blog gets situated on our new blond-ish.com site.
Apologize in advance if the information is random, will do my best to communicate it in an organized way, but is soooo much information, and I want to make sure I share it with all my friends, extended family and anyone interested. It’s such invalueable information, that I have overlooked for too long! -viv
Seared Tuna & Fennel, Beat, Carrot Slaw with Coconut Sesame Drizzle
November is our detox month…nice light and gluten, sugar, dairy, wheat free recipe that takes only 20min to make.
Seared A-Grade Tuna (buy fresh from market)
Fennel, Beat, Carrot Slaw has a cabbage base mixed with pomegranates and a homemade drizzle.
For 4 people I used:
3 medium sized carrots, 3 beets, half a cabbage, half a fennel all shredded.
For the drizzle.. try this! Just be warned it tastes super fresh!
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp coconut oil - melted
tons of sesame seeds
olive oil
balsamic
grated ginger
1 lemon juice
lots of lovin
pepper
Everyone could use a little bit more fennel in their life.
The Greeks and Romans swore by it before battle. It’s also useful in digestion, as a wonderful herb in fishes and salads as well as a mosquito repellant.
I’m only writing about it, cause I bought the biggest fennel everrr at the Borough Market in London today, and it got so much attention, we gave ‘er a name - FEN FEN. Clearly, a bit too attached to FEN FEN.
